创作背景
《Gold Digger》原本是坎耶·维斯特为女说唱歌手Shawnna的专辑《Worth tha Weight》而创作的歌曲，但Shawnna并未将其收录。坎耶·韦斯特认为该歌曲应该以男性的角度来演唱，所以就将该歌曲用于了自己的专辑。
2004年初，坎耶·韦斯特在巡演的途中录制完成了该歌曲的第二段副歌；同年，坎耶在参演亚瑟小子的巡演时录制了第一段副歌；而歌曲的第三段最初选取自坎耶为Murphy Lee制作的歌曲《Drop Dead Gorgeous》（未发行），但坎耶于2005年在纽约的索尼音乐录音室重新创作并录制了第三段副歌。该歌曲对雷·查尔斯的歌曲《I Got a Woman》进行了采样，杰米·福克斯则演唱了采样的开头部分。
